Bangladesh has its own Taj Mahal, located about 30 miles northeast of the capital, Dhaka. Bangladesh Taj Mahal is a replica built by wealthy film makers. With this work, it could boost tourism in Bangladesh, but the fact is that some people are not satisfied with the quality of construction.

The Taj Mahal is undoubtedly one of the best known mausoleums in the world, although it is also the best. It was built in the seventeenth century by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite wife. This building is one of India’s favorite popular attractions.
The Taj Mahal has always attracted attention and people around the world has made copies of its structure, including copies known of which were made with sticks, plastic blocks, and even sand. In Dubai they built a three-quarters the size to have a replica on the Shopping Festival and New Jersey, is a luxury casino hotel called Taj Mahal.
A manufacturer of Bangladesh decided to go even further and ordered to build this replica of the original size. Building the original took 20 years but thanks to modern machinery, copying build only 5 years later.
Architects were hired specialists to measure the original, delivering the builders of Bangladesh the necessary information. Mr. Ahsanullah Moni, principal of the play, said it imported Italian marble and granite, diamonds from Belgium and was used 160 kilos of bronze in the dome.
Moni says the project was started in 2003 to enable poor people in Bangladesh visit the monument known from his own country, because they can not afford to travel to India to see the original. I’m wondering if a poor art when you want to see her stomach all the time resonates for lack of food.
The investment was about USD 60 million. Mr. Moni already has a three star hotel and plans to make the Taj Mahal fake a gateway to a hotel, amusement park and a multimedia production studio to boost tourism in Bangladesh, which currently is very little.
The negative aspects of the project are indigenous complaints claiming copyright infringement. Some are disappointed with the reply, others say it is made of local brick and tile bathroom, do not match the opulence of the real Taj Mahal in India. I think that claim should stop and appreciate the monument for what it is: an imitation, whether good or bad, is just that, a copy.
