
Today we want to get lost in the exoticism of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, one of the most beautiful cities in South Asia. On the banks of the river Buriganga and has a population of over twelve million people. What can we find here?
A Dhaka is known as the city of mosques, besides being the place where they produce the best in the world muslin. For those who do not know, the muslin is a type of cotton used to make curtains, costumes and other textiles.
Dhaka is the social, economic, cultural and political development of Bangladesh, a country that was developed especially with the British occupation in the nineteenth century. There are a lot of monuments that we visited.
We could start our tour at the Fort Lalbahg Dhaka, a beautiful castle situated in the historic city center. It was built in 1676 during the reign of Prince Azam. Within it you will see a mosque and the mausoleum of Bibi Pari. The visit inside the castle is a must.
From there you can go to the wonderful Armenian Church, located in the area of Armanitola. This church was built by the Armenian community of Dhaka in 1791. It is one of the most beautiful buildings of the city.
As a city of mosques which Dhaka can not miss a visit to Tara Masjid Estrella. Its name comes from one of its interior mosaics. It was built in the seventeenth century by Shaista Khan.
In the most representative buildings of the city have the Jatiyo Shongshod, where Parliament is situated in Dhaka. This is one of the most interesting avant-garde buildings Bangladesh.
And finally there is nothing better to do it in front of the Minaret Shahid, one of the many mausoleums that are in Dhaka. It was built to commemorate the death of hundreds of people in Dhaka in manifestations of the Language Movement in 1952, mostly students. His colorful gardens attract many tourists.
